JOB PURPOSE:
Sl? an Chro? Retreat centre provides spiritual and wellness retreats
and workshops in a tranquil environment surrounded by nature?s
beauty. The purpose of the role is to work with St Patrick?s
Missionary Society on the development and day to day management of Sli
an Chro?, ensuring that it is a place of welcome and conducive to
personal spiritual and human development.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Promote Sl? an Chro? Retreat Centre as a place of spirituality
and wellbeing.
* Develop Retreat Programmes and workshops on human development,
spiritual growth and ecological awareness.
* Foster good working relationships with community groups,
educational centres (including schools) and other associated spiritual
and wellbeing groups.
* Responsible for the operational management of the Retreat Centre.
* Supervise the designated staff allocated to support the running of
the retreat centre.
* Advise and assist the client/groups of the hospitality services
available to them.
* Any other duties that may be assigned to you to ensure the retreat
services may be delivered in line with the spiritual wellbeing and
ethos of St Patrick?s Missionary Society.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* Obtained a recognised qualification in Spirituality or Theology.
* Having a personal spiritual practice.
* Experience of leading support groups in a similar environment.
* Experience of developing spirituality and well-being programmes.
* Good communication skills both written and verbal.
* Team player with a flexible approach to how the Society deliver
the retreat centre services.
* Access to a car and a full driving licence
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
* Experience of working with youth and community groups
* Experience of receiving and providing Spiritual
direction/accompaniment
* Have management experience in a similar environment.
GENERAL INFORMATION
* This is a new role for St Patrick?s Missionary Society and thus
the above duties are not intended to be a comprehensive list of all
duties involved. The candidate appointed may be required to perform
other duties as appropriate to the post which may be assigned to
him/her and to contribute to the development of the position.
* Onsite accommodation is available to the successful candidate
should it be required so to facilitate the organisation and running of
the retreat centre programmes. This post requires the candidate to be
flexible as there will be occasions when the person will need to be
onsite to oversee the day-to-day management of the retreat centre
and/or facilitate workshops scheduled to run at the weekend.
